Our Story

I find that when I’m not sure what else to do, I just start sharing the story about Fred Beltram and his generous gift to Emmanuel Mennonite Church with any and all who will listen.                                               (See What is BPC 270?! above.)

It seems, then, that the rest takes care of itself:

Emmanuel Mennonite Church’s story of the Beltram Peace Center 270 is one of five stories that Mennonite Creation Care Network will feature at their booth in Kansas City, MO during the Mennonite Church USA convention, June 30 to July 5!

The Mennonite (A Mennonite USA publication) would like to use our story on their website. They also hope to use it in the print magazine in an upcoming issue.

Our story may also find its way to the Mennonite World Review.

Lately, I have been playing with a video app as a way of “showing” our story.  Check it out:

270 will continue to share its story with any and all who will listen: Healing and Hope through Creation Care and Service!

About Sheb

After reading, If You Want to Walk on Water, You Have to Get Out of the Boat, (Jon Ortberg), I decided that getting out of the boat was the easy part. "Wow, Jesus, I want to do that too!" Staying focused on Jesus rather than the wind and the waves is the hard part. I suppose even in the doldrums that is also true. So my prayer and meditation in whatever journey I undertake is to keep my eyes fixed on the One who will walk with me and keep me above water. Matthew 14: 25-33
